Representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Water Ministries of Central Asian countries took part in a study tour to the Senegal River Basin Development Authority (OMVS). The trip was organized from April 29 to May 4, 2018, as part of the Blue Peace Central Asia Dialogue Platform. The OMVS unites Guinea, Mauritania, Mali, and Senegal intending to jointly manage the water resources of the basin of the transboundary river Senegal. The case of Senegal is unique because the regional water cooperation is based on the understanding and sharing of the benefits from water resources rather than solely allocating the resource.
