The Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed its appreciation to the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the fruitful cooperation and constructive engagement between the two sides in the field of water management.
The meeting was held in follow-up to the protocol of the first session of the Joint Kyrgyz-Tajik Water Management Commission and served as an important platform for reviewing ongoing issues and identifying mutually acceptable solutions for future cooperation.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the confirmation of the Ak-Suu River, also known as the Isfara River, as a pilot basin for the work of Blue Peace Central Asia. This decision was reflected in the Commission’s protocol, a copy of which was received following the meeting. The document recommends considering the Ak-Suu (Isfara) River as a pilot basin for activities to be carried out in coordination with the authorized bodies of both parties for the purpose of attracting investment.
